How can I get you out of my mind when you’re all I ever think about?
Koji’s being pathetic, waiting and waiting for Ao to text him.
I wish I realized when this was going into serious drawing territory and resized the canvas. May redraw it one day to proper proportions. This is the actual size I drew it in. /sob.
experimenting! sorry, rui, i borrowed your brainbaby.
The Mourning Son, book 1 characters, round one.
left to right:

Gilbert Ramirez, Honor Suico, Joshua Martelino, Elias de la Rama.
Sybilla, Narcissa “Cissa” Uytengsu, Florianne Gascon-Cordova, Fr. Isagani Calinao.
i miss vagrant story so much :(
sydney may have had a waist tinier than yours but he can hold his own in a fight. the man has low rise pants and blade tipped fingers. how else did he survive in the dungeons? (prohint: ashley got his ass kicked.) (pro hint ii: sydney tops.)
i still don’t understand ashley’s hair.
initially i just wanted to compare and contrast moses (left most) and noah’s (grumpy fellow second from the left) bodies. moses is in a dance crew, specializing in bboy and breakdancing. noah’s athleticism extends to bicycling and running away from monsters.
didn’t take long until amy made it there. she does ballet. and then gilbert. he’s motherfucking fabulous. honor decided to be a brick wall next to joshua in his double breasted dolce and gabanna suit. elias is looking charming in a barong tagalog and sybilla always looks fabulous, darling.
maybe will ink and color this. it was a great exercise in varying bodies and working on resemblances.
use soft brush with goal to produce a complicated piece of art = fail to make anything of value and proceed to feel frustrated about life and incompetence
use hard pen at very small size to just fuck around what the hell = produce sufficiently creepy piece of work
what the fuck is wrong with you, hand
ahhh finally :D forced myself to take a break from work to cough something up. i’ve been wanting to draw the characters from homestuck but i hadn’t had the motivation until now. you can thank barbaricyip and ladyofshallnot for this. wanted to do my variation of the beta kids.
i liked the idea of jade and john being ambiguously asian and dave and rose being white. this was a great exercise in face variation.
i might try drawing the alpha kids soon-ish.
the original of this is only about 2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide. sometimes taking a break from being wordy is nice. practiced using my faber castell pitt pens. got a set in grays the other weekend and i’ve been learning how to use them since.
Referenced Qiao Ren Liang. Oh Noah, you’re starting to look like yourself. Got a long way to go before I achieve realism but I’m much closer than I was a while back. (Oops, I forgot his other piercings)
On the left is my work today, on the right is my first foray into digital painting in 2010.
